Karma Trekkers Introduces TVentures Ethical Journey
The award winning television show Karma Trekkers launches "TVentures," small group trips that bring worldwide travelers to the unique destinations featured on the series.
Somerville, NJ, July 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The award winning television series Karma Trekkers launches “TVentures” - intimate, small-group journeys bringing worldwide travelers to the unique destinations presented on Karma Trekkers. Show host Damon Redfern will accompany the first group to Peru in September 2009.
“We filmed Karma Trekkers’ pilot episode in Peru, a country that well represents Karma Trekkers’ spirit. We were moved by the history, culture, spirituality and local people’s hospitality”, says Kevin Fox, Executive Producer of Karma Trekkers. “For the same reasons, TVentures chose Peru for the maiden trip.”
With a goal to promote cross-cultural exchange, Karma Trekkers and "TVentures" will take worldwide travelers for an educational journey. “To see, to listen, to feel, and to share are critical elements of the friendship, and this kind of understanding is very important these days.” says Fox, “We want to contribute a positive influence to our worldwide audience.” Fox sees travel as a way to enhance the appreciation of differences, and a bridge to peace and prosperity.
E.A.S.T Tours, a travel consulting company, is the locations facilitator for the Karma Trekkers film crew and assists in planning the journeys for the show. E.A.S.T Tours believes in ethical journeys, authentic experience, sophisticated style, and touching memories. The real beauty of travel and spirit of cross- cultural exchange is to see the world, know the people, and embrace the differences. E.A.S.T tours will use its values to help create an educational and inspiring trip.
Both the Karma Trekkers’ vision and the mystical location of Peru hold personal significance to show host Damon Redfern, who spent part of his childhood there. “My tutor was an archeologist who let me play with ancient Incan artifacts and that inspired my eager desire to learn the origins of people and their stories,” says Redfern.
“Humble, genuine and compassionate are the three words that best describe Damon” according to Michelle Lin, co-producer of Karma Trekkers. “Damon is adventurous and fun, with the energy as a boy, the wisdom of a philosopher, and the heart of a philanthropist.”
Redfern will join travelers in Peru this September to visit a local art collector, explore Andean markets, hike at Machu Picchu, and meet the resident archeologist. They will be able to access many exclusive sites normally not open to the general public. They will also take part in the local charitable events.
A fund of USD $ 100 will be donated on behalf of each traveler to Kuychi Center, supporter of “Children of the Rainbow” a local project dedicated to securing strong futures to deprived Peruvian children. Similar acts will be practiced throughout TVentures’ future journeys.
