Cooling Technology Institute Announces Availability of Updated Standards
Houston, TX, July 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) announces the immediate availability of three updated standards for evaporative heat rejection equipment. Standard 111, Gear Speed Reducers, revised February 2009, establishes the minimum recommended rating practice and operating considerations for gear speed reducers used with propeller type fans. Standard 112, Pressure Preservative Treatment of Dimensional Lumber, revised February 2009, governs the treating procedure, minimum retentions and penetrations obtained, and the physical condition of pressure treated cooling tower lumber. Standard 201, Thermal Performance Certification of Evaporative Heat Rejection Equipment, revised January 2009, sets forth a program whereby the CTI will certify that all models of a line of factory assembled evaporative heat rejection equipment will perform in accordance with the Manufacturer’s published ratings. In this latest revision, evaporative refrigerant condensers are now included under the standard, joining established programs for both open circuit and closed circuit cooling towers.
These updated Standards are available for purchase from the CTI at www.CTI.org. For further information, contact Vicky Manser, the CTI Administrator, at vmanser@cti.org.
