Ciklum Invests in Development of Professional Expertise in Hot Technological Areas in Ukraine
Ciklum, a Danish IT outsourcing company that specializes in nearshore software development in Ukraine, announced today the launch of its new project – the Professional IT Communities website, www.ciklum.net/community – an online connecting resource for various Ukrainian IT Professional communities.
Kyiv, Ukraine, July 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- While doing business in Ukraine, Ciklum has recognized the need to create and support a professional IT community aiming at the development of an expertise in the “Hot” Technologies. In addition to various educational and networking IT events initiated and/or sponsored by the company in 2008 and 2009, Ciklum developed an open blogging platform intended to combine in one place all Ukrainian High Tech IT Communities. The Professional IT Communities website is a starting point for anyone to learn latest development trends and technologies, share ideas and stay tuned to the Industry’s events.
The development of this portal gave rise to the launch of new on-line technology specific communities in Ukraine, such as iPhone Developers and Cloud Computing, and the support of already existent ones, namely Drupal and Agile. Together with the leading specialists in the IT industry Ciklum is further working on launching Visualization, Mobile, and Flex Developers communities.
Ciklum’s initiative to support trendy IT Communities is a strategic step to ensure a solid representation of Ukrainian IT companies on the World’s IT market arena and make Ukraine an attractive outsourcing destination. “We are all witnessing a growing competition with other countries where the cost of Ukrainian resources is not an obvious strongest point anymore. We want to win customers not only due to cost-savings but also due to high level of expertise in Ukraine. We foresee our niche to be as a Talent provider: growing experts in “Hot” Technologies which will be in high demand in the future,” says Alexandra Lipes, the head of Retention Department at Ciklum.
“At Ciklum we strive to stay at the forefront of the technological progress. Early in 2008 we have recognized that in order to stay competitive as a country we got to unite the industry of Ukrainian IT professionals and make the talent grow. This led us to launching in October of 2008 the annual “IT Jam” (http://it-jam.ciklum.net/), an informal Ukrainian IT Industry Meet and Mix miniBarCamp event and focus on the establishment and/or further development of already existent professional IT communities in 2009,” says Marina Vyshegorodskikh, Ciklum’s HR Director.
As part of this big investment into the development of the Ukrainian IT Community, the nearest big event planed by Ciklum is the iPhoneDevCamp (http://www.iphonedev.com.ua/iphonedevcamp-ukraine), which will take place in Kyiv on July 18, 2009 and will unite more than 300 IT professionals.
