Find My Friend is a fun app that helps you to locate your friends using both the GPS and the new iPhone 3.0 mapping features. It addresses a problem many of us face – trying to meet up with a friend in a crowded area, like an amusement park or a sports venue. The app provides the user with a map containing the location of your friend, allowing you to see how far away they are, watch as they move and easily follow them to their exact spot.
Cognizant of the security concerns presented by such an app, a user can only locate a friend if that friend permits it. Find My Friend is integrated with the popular social networking site Facebook so you can easily and automatically invite your friends to link up with the app. Coming soon in an update the app will also take advantage of Apple's Push Notification Service.
