World's Oldest Accredited English Language School Prepares to Enter Thai Market
Bangkok, Thailand, July 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Thai Government’s recent moves to stimulate the economy by providing funding for education and training have captured the attention of at least one international language training provider. The London School of English, the world’s oldest accredited English language school, is now stepping up preparations to enter the Thai market.
The school has a long track record in delivering general and tailored courses to meet the English learning needs of people from many countries. The London School of English Group already has a successful school in Daegu, Korea, which opened in 2004.
The London School of English is currently seeking franchisees to open centres in major cities across Thailand.
In March the Thai Government began the distribution of over 18 billion baht among more than 40,000 local schools throughout the country. The scheme was followed closely by the government’s announcement in May of an allocation of 200 million baht to small and medium-sized tourism operators to train staff. The training programmes focus mainly on strengthening language skills and service management. A further 300 million baht may also be made available, according to Deputy Prime Minister Korbsak Sabhavasu.
London School of English Director, Mr Timothy Blake said, ‘High quality training has a significant impact on productivity and, ultimately, the bottom line. The Thai government’s investment in language and other skills training is an encouraging move for us because it sends a clear message about the nation’s priorities and attitude towards education.’
Headquartered in London and operating through a network of international centres, The London School of English Group offers a wide spectrum of courses: from English exam preparation and General English, to Business English, soft skills and tailored industry-specific courses for multiple sectors. Client organizations – drawn from Europe, Asia and Latin America - include many MNCs and government ministries.
All courses offered to franchisees are based on the materials and teaching methodology used by LSE in London, or those developed in addition for Franchisee use. Academic Directors are either sent out to the school from London, or trained in London before starting work in the local operation.
