Salem Co-operative Bank President Appointed to Salem Co-operative Bank President Appointed to Greater Salem Chamber Board of Directors

Salem, NH, July 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ann Lally, President of Salem Co-operative Bank, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce for a three year term beginning September 1, 2009. Candidates for the Board are chosen based upon their commitment to both the Chamber and the community – something Ann Lally is deeply dedicated to. In 2008, Ann was awarded the prestigious William A. Brown Distinguished Businessperson of the Year by the Chamber. Salem Co-operative Bank, under her direction, also partners with the Chamber on the annual Hidden Jewel Awards, a program developed to honor area women for their efforts within the community.

As President of Salem Co-operative Bank, Ann not only volunteers her time but encourages her team to do the same. “Volunteering puts us in touch with the needs of the community, but more importantly allows us to give something back. And, from a business perspective, by having a better understanding of community needs we are better able to serve our customers,” says Lally.

Perhaps most notably, is Ann’s involvement as past director and president of the Salem Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, throughout her career, Ann has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions including the Southern New Hampshire University Alumni Hall of Fame award in 2005, Community Banker of the Year in 2004, and Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem Person of the Year in 1997. Ann currently serves as a Trustee of the Trust Funds for the Salem-Windham Dollars for Scholars and has also recently been named to the Board of Incorporators for New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

Ann has been with Salem Co-operative Bank since 1986. She and her husband Peter currently reside in Manchester.
