Strength of One Indiana Company Grants Three Magical Wishes

When DEFENDER Direct CEO Dave Lindsey, decided to reach out to the community with the help of his employees, he never thought the power of a wish could inspire his employees to raise a whopping $9,000 in just three weeks. With another $9,000 matching funds, DEFENDER Direct will enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region, to grant three wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions.

Indianapolis, IN, July 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Indianapolis-based DEFENDER Direct, a leading company in customer acquisitions for products and services including home security systems, became involved with the Foundation when Lindsey agreed to enrolling the company in the Foundation’s Adopt a Wish program, an employee giving campaign.

“My initial goal was to engage our associates in the goal of raising $6,000 for Make-A-Wish to enable us to ‘adopt’ a wish,” said Lindsey. From May 6 - May 29 the employees raised funds through personal donations.

“I was thrilled that our employee giving campaign raised enough funds to grant the magical Walt Disney World wishes of three Indianapolis children: Kyree, Kayla and Nolan,” commented Lindsey.

“I’m deeply thankful to DEFENDER Direct and its employees for their generosity during these troubling economic times,” remarked Executive Director Juli Miller.

The wish kids and their families recently attended an extraordinary Wish Send-Off party organized by DEFENDER Direct employees. The wish celebration included new iPod Shuffles for the wish kids, and even Disney themed cupcakes. In July, all three wish children and their families will experience their wishes come true when they visit Walt Disney World theme parks and stay at Give Kids The World, a resort dedicated to meeting the special needs of medically-fragile children and their families.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Indiana Region, is currently waiting to grant the wishes of over 250 children with life-threatening medical conditions.
