The NexStar® Hard Drive Enclosure Line Expands to Introduce a New Type of Enclosure Providing Security for Consumers
Fremont, CA, July 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Vantec Thermal Technologies, a worldwide leader specializing in computer accessories introduces the NexStar® Vault, adding a security enclosure to their extensive line of hard drive enclosures. The Vault is designed to provide protection by enabling users to keep sensitive material within a PIN-locked partition of an enclosed hard drive.
Once a notebook hard drive is placed into the enclosure, the Vault automatically partitions the hard drive into two equal partitions. One is an unlocked partition that does not require users to enter a PIN to gain access to the files. This is where users can keep their shared files and serve as a regular external storage. The second partition, aka “Vault,” is initially hidden and encrypted until the user punches in the designated 6-digit PIN. This is where users can store personal data such as financial documents and statements and keep them from unwanted access.
