Freedom-Free Fourth for Suspected Burglar
Portland, OR, July 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A suspected plot to burglarize a Portland area home was foiled by sheriff’s deputies and Sonitrol Pacific’s audio security system July 4.
Sonitrol Pacific Operator Jaime Maranville received an alert from a door sensor at the home and listened to real-time audio inside the house. She heard suspicious sounds of movement and called deputies. While officers were en route, Maranville received more alarms indicating someone was attempting to disarm the security system.
Officers found one person at the home and took the suspected burglar into custody. The homeowner knew the individual and he believes the suspect took advantage of homeowner’s travel schedule.
The homeowner was at the coast for the Fourth of July holiday. When he learned of the attempted burglary, he returned to check on things. He found a pickup truck in his driveway loaded with items from inside his house and the truck’s key in the ignition.
