LANDBOSS Launches Free Section Mapping Tool

Stillwater, OK, July 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- LANDBOSS software announced their free online PLSS section mapping tool: Section Plotter. Section Plotter is an online tool that allows landmen or anyone else to quickly visualize a section by adding tracts and quarter-quarter calls.

Cole Shelton, Section Plotter product manager, says that the software helps to verify tract shapes and acreage, especially with complex quarter-quarter calls. The software also allows a user to download a JPEG image of the section after they have added multiple tracts.

Shelton expects that the software will see the most use from landmen. "The oil and gas software industry has historically created large complex software systems.", Shelton said, "But we are planning on building several more small scale applications that are handy tools for landmen and land administrators.".

The company's flagship products, LANDBOSS.com, an online land and lease management system is set to launch in late August.
