ADoneDeal.eu Uses Twitter to Sell a Book Before It is Written

Anonymous London writer sells quirky book concept within 48 hours of launch.

London, United Kingdom, July 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Unsure whether there would be interest in his book concept the creator, known only as ‘Rare Wit’, decided to publish the first 50 pages of Day One, The Best Book Never Written, online and allow the public to decide the fate of the book.

The opening 50 pages are available on www.adonedeal.eu – currently, the last sentence in the book. These first five chapters are also available as a PDF ebook or as a signed, printed, manuscript.

“If 10 000 or more people either get the download or buy the manuscript I will finish the book. Easy.”
Rare Wit

The book has a Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/adonedeal which includes several daily quotes from ‘Day One’ as well as updates on progress. With only a handful of followers on the free micro-blogging service ‘Day One’ has had a number of downloads and even a manuscript purchase within the first 48 hours of launch.

Visitors can pay virtually whatever they choose for the download while the signed manuscript costs £10 (around $16) inclusive of delivery anywhere in the world. Anyone who downloads the first 50 pages or buys the manuscript will receive a full digital copy of the book and a discount of the print copy… should it be completed.

“If things continue this way, Day One might see the light at the end of the day”
Rare Wit
