Barbara Padilla - An Inspiration to Her Fans

Hodgkins lymphoma survivor Barbara Padilla amazed judges last week when she sang on "America's Got Talent," not only for her beautiful soprano voice, but also for her inspiring story.

Bridgeport, WV, July 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Barbara Padilla, the 36 year-old stay-home mom, was diagnosed with the blood cancer and underwent several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, enduring treatment for several years. Padilla was told that the radiation may harm her vocal chords, leaving her unable to sing again. Luckily, for Barbara and audiences alike, the outcome proved to be favorable in all aspects.

Today, Padilla is cancer-free and her vocal chords survived the ordeal admirably as well. The classically trained lyric soprano performed the famous aria, "O mio babbino caro" from Puccini's opera, Gianni Schicchi, to rave reviews from all three "America's Got Talent" judges. The judges' enchantment grew as Padilla informed them that she was a cancer survivor and claimed her ability to now sing nothing short of a miracle.

"I was so inspired by Barbara's story, that we made her performance our Top Video of the Month on our dance studio website," says Emory Oldaker, owner of the Premier Studio of Dance in Bridgeport, WV. "I believe there are people who have talent and those who have God-given talent. I see it all the time and I know for a fact that Barbara's talent is from God and He has a purpose for her!"
