Mom Writes Novel While Infant Son Takes Naps

Stay at home mother writes her first work of fiction during son's daily nap. Indian born American author Beverley Shenoy, has proven to the world that it is possible to juggle the harried demands of raising a family while simultaneously answering the subliminal call of self-expression.

Collegeville, PA, July 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In today's world, the pressures of work and family commitments can be an all consuming job in itself, leaving little time for creative expression. With her daughter in school all day and her infant son settling in for two naps a day, Ms. Shenoy seized the opportunity to write her 292 page debut novel, 'Three Pearl Buttons'.

After several failed attempts to get back into the workforce in the current down economy, Ms. Shenoy decided to focus her energies on writing a novel instead. Ms. Shenoy says, “ This story had been simmering on a back burner for a very long time, but an opportunity to put it into words was hard to come by. I would have greatly appreciated the luxury of shutting myself away to write, but that is an unrealistic expectation given my family commitments. I had ninety minutes twice a day to escape to a world of my own making. I took what I had and 'Three Pearl Buttons' is the result of it. I am thankful now that my efforts to secure a job never reached fruition. If they had, I would not be the published author I am today!”

'Three Pearl Buttons' is an emotive story of familial love, hope and self-discovery. It is a novel that empowers strength in women and underscores the human condition. The novel is currently available at www.beverleyshenoy.com and will shortly be available at other online stores.
