New Printer Arrives at Sign-A-Rama Downtown with Exceptional Capabilities; Fujifilm Acuity HD 2504 is Only Printer of Its Kind in Region, Only Fourth in Nation

Louisville, KY, July 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sign-A-Rama Downtown – located at 909 East Market – has a new printer capable of printing on anything. And, they do mean anything. Sign-A-Rama Downtown’s Fujifilm Acuity HD 2504 is the only printer of its kind in the region and only the fourth installed in the country.

“We’ve already had some clients use the printer, and they love the results!” said Maggie Harlow, owner of Sign-A-Rama Downtown. “The Acuity produces very high-quality images and has completely unique printing capabilities and fast turnaround. It allows for a much smoother workflow.”

Mike Casto, principal and chief creative at MindSalt, is one of those satisfied customers. When he came to Sign-A-Rama Downtown to discuss the logistics of a project his company was working on, Sign-A-Rama Downtown was in the process of purchasing the printer.

“The printing size was the greatest benefit of utilizing this printer for our project, although the ability to choose which vinyl substrate we preferred was an added bonus,” said Mike.

MindSalt used the Acuity for the American Horsepower Challenge, commissioned by Humana. For this project, full-sized cutouts of cartoon horses were designed by MindSalt and printed by Sign-A-Rama Downtown.

“We are very satisfied with the end product, but customer service and attention to detail ranked as high as output quality,” said Mike.

The Acuity is a wide format flatbed digital printer and can print directly onto rigid media up to 8’x4’ and up to almost 2” thick. It is ideal for large-quantity, large-format banner and paper images, retail displays and customized interior applications. Additionally, the Acuity allows for printing with white ink. According to Maggie, this ability is a huge leap forward for printing options locally.

Sign-A-Rama Downtown began looking for a new printer with broader capabilities once they recognized they had to outsource printing projects to other companies. With the Acuity, Sign-A-Rama Downtown now has the ability to perform nearly any printing project without having to use outside vendors. And, they are serving as a resource for other sign companies. Customers are also learning the new and exciting possibilities now available for their projects with the Acuity.

“It’s been tricky explaining to customers that the Acuity will print on nearly any material they can dream up, but that’s also been the fun part! We try to broaden their imagination and share that ‘anything’s possible’ vision with them,” said Maggie.
