International Humanitarian Visits Omaha to Celebrate 92 Years of History
Omaha, NE, July 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Nebraska Jurisdiction Church of God In Christ will celebrate 92 years of history in the state of Nebraska starting August 3-7, 2009. As they celebrate this milestone, Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop J.O. Ford, Sr., welcomes the International Presiding Prelate of the Church of God In Christ, Bishop Charles Edward Blake as guest speaker at their 92nd Annual Holy Convocation. Bishop Charles E. Bishop Blake is a worldwide humanitarian, Founder and CEO of Save Africa’s Children (SAC), an African-American founded organization, providing direct support to children affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty and war throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Bishop Blake was also one of four religious leaders to participate in the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) Ecumenical Service. President Barack Obama has appointed Bishop Blake to serve as a member of the Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnership. Currently Bishop Blake is the Senior Pastor of West Angeles Church of God In Christ (COGIC) where he pastors over 26,000 members in Los Angeles, CA.
Other guest includes, Pastor Loran Mann of Pittsburg, PA., former news anchor/reporter for WIIC/WPXI (NBC affiliate) in Pittsburg, now pastoring at Pentecostal Temple COGIC in Pittsburg. Pastor Keith Newton, a recording artist and pastor of Christian Tabernacle COGIC in Kansas City, MO, will be their special musical guest.
This is such a momentous occasion, other religious leaders from surrounding states, local, and state civic leaders will be present to celebrate with the Church of God In Christ, as they embark on 92 years of history in Nebraska.
