In response to customer feedback they have introduced several new areas of functionality, as well as continuing improvement of the core features.

What’s New...

1. Calendar

The Solcara Spotlight Calendar has an easy to use interface that enables you to see all planned activities across the team (that is, press conferences, meetings, releases etc.). Providing a day, week and monthly view enables the effective management of resources and the forward scheduling of important events. The calendar can also filter views by team or individual.

In addition, events can be easily transferred from the Spotlight Calender to Mircosoft Outlook.

2. Monitoring Coverage

Spotlight 6.5 also has the option to integrate with news monitoring services such as Durrants.

Content can be imported directly from Durrants, for example, into the Media Coverage section. It is automatically linked to your Contacts and Organisations, and you can create links to press releases and subjects. This enables you to view and analyse the effectiveness of particular communications in terms of the resulting media coverage.

Solcara are in consultation with a number of content providers and they hope to announce additional sources in the near future.

3. Twitter

You can now publish your press releases directly from Solcara Spotlight to Twitter, thereby reaching out to a wider audience. This action is audited so that you can quickly see when the item was posted and who was responsible.

4. Freedom of Information

Capture, track and report on Freedom of Information (FoI) enquiries. Handle exemptions and appeals, and measure average response times.

5. Audit Viewer

Solcara Spotlight 6.5 has extensive audit capabilities – recording all significant user activity. In addtion, Solcara Spotlight 6.5 comes with an Audit Viewer to provide Spotlight administrators direct access to this information and enable them to perform ad-hoc queries on this data.

6. Online Help

A new and comprehensive context sensitive online help facility has been incorporated into the product. This means that users can access help relating on any function directly from the page they are using. No more resorting to paper documentation or searching through your notes.
