She's president and CEO of a networking group for executives, and recently released her first book, "The New Job Search."
Phoenix, AZ, July 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Executives Network President and CEO Molly Wendell spoke to IBM alumni in the job search during a Career OnTrak webinar July 16. The Webinar, titled “Targeting Your Market…and Effectively Transitioning to a New Industry,” was available only to The Greater IBM Connection members, comprised of former IBM employees.
Wendell—who previously worked 10 years at IBM in sales, marketing and strategy—has made a name for herself as a job-networking expert. She’s recently authored a book, “The New Job Search: Break all the rules. Get connected. And get hired faster for the money you’re worth.” Plus, through her executive job-networking group, she has helped thousands land new positions.
According to an IBM representative, Wendell is considered a valuable resource for IBM alumni because she’s an IBM alum and job-search expert.
“So many people think their skills are transferable, and they are, but not the way they’re going about it,” said Wendell. “You have to think about what industry you want to be in and how to take your skills and make a logical transition that’s relevant to both you and the company.”
Wendell’s webinar also instructed IBM alumni how to pick an industry to work in, target it, and transition to it. She also addressed how job seekers can define their current skill set and use it to become relevant to a company—even if they have no experience in that company’s industry.
