San Diego, CA, July 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sign Up Now for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training

The days are getting longer and hotter but it’s not too soon to plan a winter get-away. For the experience of a lifetime you can spend the next four to five months preparing for a full or half marathon or century ride at a fabulous destination all while raising money to help fund blood cancer research.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training® program (TNT) is signing up runners, walkers and hikers for events at winter destinations including beautiful Honolulu, HI, quaint scenic St. Petersburg, FL and historic Warner Springs, CA. Consider combining a fun vacation at a warm winter spot with the opportunity to accomplish an incredible feat and support lifesaving research.

TNT, the world’s first, biggest and best sports training and fundraising program, provides participants with a four-to-five month comprehensive training program, certified coaches and travel and accommodations at the venue of their choice. In return, participants help in the fight against leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma by raising funds to support blood cancer research, education and services for patients and their families.

“Taking vacations that include a component for helping others in need is a growing trend,” said Debbie Hoogestraat of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). “TNT provides participants a great opportunity to travel to a great destination while also giving them the satisfaction of knowing they are making a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients.”

Since Team In Training began in 1988, more than 400,000 participants have raised more than $950 million to fund research to find cures and better therapies, and provide information and support to patients and their families.
