Ivy Exec- MBA Poll Results: Are MBA Professionals Turning Away from Corporate America?
Ivy Exec is the leading source of prescreened job postings for MBA graduates, and is constantly communicating with 30,000+ members. New poll results this week show professionals may be following a more creative career path.
New York, NY, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MBA students and alumni are 71% more likely to go down the entrepreneurial route due to job market conditions. It appears as though top tier talent is taking out their scratch pads in search for the next great idea. In the past, recent MBA graduates opted for the fast-paced battlegrounds of the corporate world without any hesitation; the job market crisis of 2008, however, has left many of them wanting to run their own show.
Statistics reported by Ivy Exec this week also showed that 84% of executives are now open to relocation; this number has almost doubled since 2007. Finally, the desire for work-life balance, which was reported as a top priority in 2006, has declined to an estimated 27%.
“In the mists of the current situation, 73% of MBAs are putting a hold on their desire for a more balanced lifestyle,” the Ivy Exec team reported.
“Many things can be said about these findings, but the most important point is that executives remain optimistic and proactive. While these are very driven people who are keeping an eye on all opportunities in their industries, they are also open to developing their own initiatives. I expect companies will have to be as creative and proactive when it is time to bring high caliber candidates back to the corporate world”, said Silvana Carpanelli Hayes, VP of Marketing at Ivy Exec.
As the only web-based recruiting firm that combines next generation technology with the white glove services of executive recruiting firm, Ivy Exec is well positioned to help their members through the transition, whichever path they chose. Ivy Exec has also developed a unique, strategic approach to help leading companies re-attract the talent they will soon seek.
