Chapel Hill, NC, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- R&R Grill, a new restaurant featuring traditional American cuisine and a comfortable, lively atmosphere, opens Tuesday, July 21. Located at 137 East Franklin Street, the restaurant is owned and operated by father-son team Rob and Ross Moll.
Just steps from the UNC Chapel Hill campus and the historic Varsity Theater, R&R Grill is poised to be the next Chapel Hill dining fixture in the heart of downtown. With over $1 million spent on the restaurant’s complete renovation, the Moll family has transformed the 5,300 square foot space that once housed Goldie’s Grill and Papagayo’s. Backed by a brand new, state-of-the art kitchen, the updated dining room and bar area are warm and contemporary, featuring an open layout, mahogany wood detail and elegant granite bar tops.
R&R Grill’s expansive covered patio is outfitted with its own bar area, retro seating, and over 3,000 square feet of open-air dining space, perfect for gatherings of all sizes. Both fully stocked bars feature a diverse selection of beers on tap and R&R Grill signature cocktails such as the Pomegranate Martini or R&R Cosmo. A late night menu offers guests a convenient dining option, even after midnight.
R&R Grill food specialties include slow cooked, falling off the bone St. Louis ribs, home-ground burgers, gourmet flatbread pizzas and a selection of mouth-watering entrees including steak, fish and chicken. Most entrées are priced under $20, with burgers and pizza under $10.
“We are hoping for a good mix of clientele by keeping our price points competitive,” Ross said in a recent interview with The Daily Tar Heel. “We want it to be affordable enough that students can come in and have drinks but nice enough that they come back with their parents.”
Following the opening of R&R Grill this Tuesday, diners can anticipate a grand opening celebration on August 14 and 15. The new restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner, with hours Sunday through Tuesday from 11 am to midnight and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 2 am. A late night menu begins at 10 pm.
