Le Meridien St Julians in Malta Enhances Sales Team
Two senior appointments in the Sales & Marketing Team of Le Meridien St Julians Hotel & Spa in Malta.
St Julians, Malta, July 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa have engaged the services, with immediate effect, of a new Director of Sales and Marketing, Jeffrey Cutajar, and a new Director of Sales, Mark Muscat De Celis.
A graduate of the University of London, Mr Cutajar, who holds an MA in International Tourism Policy & Marketing, brings a wealth of experience to the post, having been actively involved with selling Malta overseas since 1983. He served in several senior positions within the Malta Tourism Authority until the end of 2006. In the past couple of years, Mr Cutajar was also heavily involved within the tourist industry as an independent tourism consultant.
Mr Muscat De Celis is an old Starwood hand, having held previous posts at both the Westin Dragonara Resort and Le Méridien St Julians. He was heavily involved in the opening of Le Méridien St Julians, after which he enjoyed a brief stint at Le Méridien Lav, Split, in Croatia. Returning to the island, he held the post of Groups Sales Manager at the Hilton Malta.
Asked for his comments on his new position, Mr Muscat De Celis said: “It is a sense of déjà vu, but definitely a very pleasant one. Working again with old friends and colleagues, as well as selling a unique brand of hotel, is a very uplifting experience.”
On his part, Mr Cutajar commented: “This is a completely new experience for me. Although I have been involved with selling Malta overseas for the past 23 years, it is the first time I am being involved with the marketing of a premier hotel.
“I am extremely confident that we will succeed – there is an excellent team in place and the property is outstanding!”
Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa General Manager Angela Saliba welcomed the new appointments: “This is a very exciting time for us. The mix of experience and youth that we have employed here should strengthen an already strong team.
