Doha, Qatar, July 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- His Excellency Dr. Naseer S Homoud, Goodwill Ambassador and Director of Middle East office for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), the Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council has congratulated the vast consortium of Non Aligned Movement (NAM) on successful completion of its 15th summit in Sharm-el-Sheikh.
Speaking on the NAM relevance in 21st century His Excellency pointed out the need and importance of NAM in contemporary era of globalization and commercialization. He said “Heads of Government of 118 developing nations discussed issues related to the global economic downturn, terrorism, climate change and food security during the summit is of utmost relevance to whole world”
His Excellency also expressed his satisfaction over the theme of international solidarity for peace and development and current economic and financial crisis. It also focused on comprehensive manner on global regional and sub-regional issues, besides issues relating to development, human rights and social issues.
IIMSAM official hoped for better implementation of the agendas and agreement made during the said summit. The summit being held was propitious, as Egypt’s father figure, the late Gamal Abdel Nasser, was one of the active founders of NAM along with Jawaharlal Nehru.
Dr. Naseer further endorsed the words of Hon’ble Secretary General of UNO requesting the members of NAM to work on unified solidarity and his call to help world’s poor. IIMSAM official further urged the member nations to render their helping hands to combat menace of world hunger. He call upon all the members to develop a fool proof strategy to ensure that no child on the earth dies for hunger. He pleaded the support of IIMAM in this noble aspiration to all possible extent and hoped that NAM members would support for IIMSAM in achieving its goal.
