Voltech PM6000 Multi-Phase Power Analyzer Now Available at Advanced Test Equipment Rentals
San Diego, CA, July 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The PM6000 power analyzer from Voltech is versatile, accurate, fully-featured and easy-to-use providing definitive measurements of all electrical power quantities on all products that consume, convert or generate electrical power. It uses discrete fourier transforms (DFT) to provide a harmonics analyzer that is fully compliant to the latest IEC Standards IEC61000-3-2 (harmonics) and IEC61000-3-6 (flicker and manual switching).
This state-of-the-art power analyzer provides design and EMC engineers with a foolproof yet practical solution for testing to the latest IEC standards. By using the incredibly reliable and precise DFT method, which is not possible with the fast fourier transform (FFT) process, the PM6000 is able to provide powerful digital signal processing techniques to generate 1000s of harmonic measurements per second.
The PM6000’s pc software is used to setup tests, to compare the results with the limits for classes A, B, C & D and to provide diagnostic information as well as clear pass/fail reports suitable for inclusion in product technical construction files. It is available with 1 to 6 temperature compensated measurement channels and a range of current shunts and transducers suitable for all applications.
The PM6000 offers a wide variety of applications when it comes to multi-phase power analysis. These applications include; accurate measurement of power supplies, optimum performance at low power factors, simultaneous measurements at the input & output of a drive, comprehensive integration features suitable for Energy Star measurements and high efficiency in measuring high-frequency ballasts.
Measurement setup is via the easy-to-use front panel keyboard and menu system, or one of the remote interfaces. A color VGA display is used to show results and waveforms. The PM6000 chassis is designed around a LINUX based PC and PCI bus for maximum flexibility of the user interface and speed of data transfer.
