This Friday, July 24th, It's Gallery night in Milwaukee. Local art galleries stay open late and thousands of people visit to view the latest in local art and fashion. Tonight, Streetza Pizza will be presenting the work of two local artists - all over the truck.
Milwaukee, WI, July 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- People also have the chance to become part of the art, as artist Rachel Kenison will take the remainder of the art installation photos at the event and install them on-sight. The work of Shana Goetsch will also be displayed.
And, Streetza Pizza will be featuring the Pointillism Pizza. Thousands of little veggies and meats finely diced and placed on top of our tomato sauce covered Streetza crust.
The event is being held at Lela Boutique. (321 North Broadway) And Lela will be featuring the latest in woman’s fashion from Shanel Regier, Voom, Vika Brown, Trina Turk and Mel en Stel.
About Rachel: Rachel Kenison Photography saved my life. Photography is my religion. I take pictures to feel something other than what I’m feeling. I take pictures to capture feeling. I take pictures because I’m bored. I take pictures because even if I don’t have a camera I am always taking pictures in my head–since birth practically. I take pictures of just about anything. I love people and decay the most though.
About Shana: Shana R. Goetsch received her BFA in painting from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in May of 2008. She also holds a printmaking minor. A southeastern Wisconsin native, Shana has been involved in the arts since childhood, starting with dance as her first visual medium. She became more interested in painting in 1989, after the death of her mother. Using her work as a vehicle for change and empowerment in herself and others, Goetsch often uses words and specific phrases to interject personal history, experience and meaning into her pieces. Many hand gathered and found objects are used as materials in her work, as well. Goetsch still sees painting as an important part of her process, “I’m a painter, and anything else I can possibly get away with.”
