Marketing and Advertising Internships.com (the URL has no spaces), a website specifically for students looking for or working in internships in marketing, advertising or related areas has just launched. As of now, the site offers articles for students, a monthly newsletter, a job board and a marketing and advertising bookstore through Amazon.
“This is the kind of website that is a living breathing thing, so I don’t see it as ever being fully done,” said site founder Jeff Long. “It was just an area where I saw a need for students to have access to. Ultimately they will be the ones who guide its direction.”
The goal of the site is to help interns in three key areas:
1. What to expect in a marketing or advertising internship
2. How to find, get and succeed in their internships
3. The role of internships in their advertising and marketing careers
Marketing and Advertising Internships.com also has resources and articles for employers to help them build internship programs and attract the best interns to their companies and agencies. In addition employers are able to post internships for free for a standard posting and $5 for a featured internship.
The internship job board is always free to students to browse.
“It seemed a logical connection to provide a job board on the site, that way when a student is on the site reading an article or blog post they can just search for an internship right there,” said Long. “Ultimately the goal is to make Marketing and Advertising Internships.com the only place an intern or potential intern would ever need to come.”
