Transformational Living Center Provides Residential Eating Disorder Treatment for Working Women and Students
The Transformational Living Center (TLC) in Tucson, Arizona, is the culmination of 10 years of research into the most effective options for eating disorder treatment and relapse prevention, and includes the option to stay in treatment while continuing to work and go to school.
Tucson, AZ, July 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mirasol Eating Disorder Recovery Centers proudly announces a new program for women who are looking for a way to "jump start" or sustain their recovery from anorexia, bulimia or binge eating.
The Transformational Living Center (TLC) in Tucson, Arizona, is the culmination of 10 years of research into the most effective options for eating disorder treatment and relapse prevention. Like Mirasol's primary residential treatment program, it combines traditional therapy with alternative therapies proven effective in the treatment of chronic stress-related conditions. However, Mirasol recognizes that not everyone can take time out for long-term residential care, so its flexible program emphasizes real world skills and techniques that can achieve rapid improvements in the client's ability to cope with stress.
One of TLC's specialities is "Brain Paint" a new development in neurofeedback that helps improve and restore brain function, and that the client can continue at home after completing residential treatment at Mirasol. TLC also offers training in emotional freedom techniques (EFT), meal planning and preparations, psychodrama, dance/movement therapy, adventure therapy, coping skills, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), co-dependency, healthy communication, relationship development, sexuality, body image, art therapy and women's health.
Daily schedules are carefully tailored to the individual's needs, and modified to incorporate part-time work, school or volunteer opportunities. Treatment length can vary from two weeks to three months or, depending on the client's requirements.
"We incorporate many more therapy hours than a transitional living program," says Program Manager Diane Ryan, "so that as the clients progress beyond the initial two weeks, they can choose what works best for them from a menu of treatment options."
Mirasol is a CARF-accredited eating disorder treatment program for founded in 1999 that focuses the biochemical relationship between the body, nutrition, and mental health. Its mission is to heal the mind, body and spirit, promoting therapeutic transformation in individuals, and, ultimately, in families and communities.
