Darkness, Death, Demons, and Dragons Abound in New Fantasy Novel

Keller, TX, July 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Jeremy Barandela announces the release of his new fantasy novel, Dawn of Darkness, published by Outskirts Press. It’s the second of a seven-book series titled United We Stand, and its author is an ambitious 17-year-old Harry Potter and Inheritance fan. At over 400 pages, Dawn of Darkness is an expansive, epic adventure that is sure to appeal to the young adult audience, and especially to other fans of the work of J.K. Rowling, Christopher Paolini, and J.R.R. Tolkien.

Marik had already had roughly three months to release Zar Khan…from his imprisonment in the Abyss, but so far he had done nothing. This led Cedric to believe that his cousin still needed something to emancipate his dark master. Until he discovered what that thing was, Cedric couldn’t commit himself to anyone or anything, because it would mean the end of life as he knew it if Zar Khan were allowed to return.

In Dawn of Darkness, demons and dragons—darkness and death—have been reawakened in the world of Sargoria. Marik, a cousin and former friend of Cedric, the book’s hero, has been consumed by evil, and his plan to resurrect the fallen mage Zar Khan—the most wicked and dangerous man to ever have lived—has been successful. Zar Khan’s return has beckoned the advent of his former allies: the demon soldiers of the Abyss, the dark dragons, and The Collective. Cursed with a lifetime of endless torment and pain relieved only by the bloodshed of innocents, The Collective is by far the most dangerous of Zar Khan’s revived allies. They are a group of six wraithlike men who specialize in brutal, magical assassination, and they have made it their top priority, as commanded by their dark master, to capture Cedric . . . or kill him.

Cedric must face his most dangerous enemies yet, in a land where hope seems to have vanished from the face of the continent. Evil runs rampant in Sargoria, and only Cedric has the power to stop its minions. That is, of course, if he is able to survive his encounter with the forces of darkness.

The last thing Lysandra saw was a flash of black light from the orb atop her husband’s staff. Then, her soul was separated from her body. As her body slumped to the floor, Zar Khan said, “You foolish woman. If only you and Cedric would realize nothing can stop me this time. I have ushered in a dawn of darkness, a darkness which shall never be pierced by the light of day again.”

Dawn of Darkness is a battle between good and evil—a battle that will determine the fate of the fantastic yet believable world that Jeremy Barandela has so masterfully created.
