Mimi Rothschild Announces Results of Beta Testing for Online Contribution Program
Feedback tool for parents producing better-than-expected results.
Philadelphia, PA, August 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mimi Rothschild, co-founder of Learning By Grace, a leading online homeschool academy, is pleased to announce the results of a summer beta testing program that allows parents and students to contribute to the official Learning By Grace online lesson plans. The results of the testing have been very positive, and Mimi Rothschild anticipates a larger expansion of the program in the fall when the regular school year begins.
“We have beta tested the parent-student feature during our online homeschooling summer session and it has worked out great,” said Mimi Rothschild.
“The feedback we have been getting has been very wonderfully unexpected. Hundreds of our virtual academy summer school parents were willing to share their insight and homeschool knowledge,” Rothschild added.
The new feature gives parents and students the ability to comment and contribute to what they liked or disliked about a particular lesson plan. The users are then able to make suggestions for additional items that should be added or omitted.
Approximately once every week, a Learning By Grace curriculum developer then reviews all the suggestions and selects the ones that best fit Learning By Grace’s curriculum standards, incorporating those suggestions into the actual lessons. The parent or student who made the suggestion is then given credit at the bottom of the assignment for their contribution.
“We value the suggestions and feedback from our parents and students,” said Mimi Rothschild. “By sharing their expertise, they can take pride in knowing their contributions will be maximizing the homeschooling experience not only for themselves, but for other academy parents and students.”
Rothschild continued, “It takes an average of two years from the time traditional textbooks and CD-ROMs are written to the time a newly updated version is available. By contrast, the new Learning By Grace parent-student suggestion feature allows our online curriculum to be updated with the best content on an almost weekly basis.”
