Jill Jackson Announces Gig at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut Glasgow

Glasgow, United Kingdom, August 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Scottish singer songwriter Jill Jackson has announced the release of a new EP, titled “Painted Faces”. The EP is special ukulele recording that will be released on evening of her forthcoming performance at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on 7th August 2009.

From rock chick to alternative country Jill has been recording since 2005 and has toured with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Bryan Adams. She has just recently returned from a 50 states in 50 days tour of USA with fellow artist Kevin Montgomery and has been described in the Nashville Press as the “Scottish Songbird”. Jill commented on her new style;

“When Speedway came to an end I decided to go back to my roots and play the kind of music that I love - Dolly Parton, Shelby Lynne, the Stones, Buddy Holly, Chet Atkins and Joni Mitchell. I just wanted to strip the whole sound back.”

In February of this year Jill went back into the studio to record her forthcoming album and her new ukulele EP is a taster of what the future holds for Jill. The gig at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut will be the showcase event for her new music and will be a chance for her fans to hear and buy her new EP. Something that Jill is really looking forward to; "I'm really excited about playing King Tut's again. It's my favourite venue in Glasgow, without question. You always get a great crowd that really listens and appreciates the music. I've been working on a lot of new material this year so I'm really looking forward to showcasing some of that."

Tickets for the King Tuts Gig on Friday 7th August 2009 are available from www.kingtuts.co.uk priced £7.00.
