Proticon Selected by USWIB to Assist Displaced Professionals

Easton, MD, August 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Proticon Career Services, a professional recruiting and career management firm headquartered in Easton, MD has been selected by the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board (USWIB) to assist with displaced professionals. Proticon, along with two other firms, was selected to partner with the USWIB, out of approximately 300 firms, based on a bid process. The contract is funded with a rapid response grant and technical assistance money from the State of Maryland for dislocated workers. Proticon will assist dislocated workers who come to the USWIB with past experience in supervisory, managerial or highly specialized jobs. “We are excited to have the opportunity to continue our strong partnership with the USWIB and serve the Eastern Shore business community,” commented John Ruffini, Managing Partner with Proticon. “It is imperative that the talented professionals we are and will be working with reengage in the workforce as soon as possible. They need it, and the Eastern Shore needs them!” When the USWIB is informed about a business closing or downsizing, it gathers information and determines the appropriate course of action for the displaced employees. While the USWIB is able to assist many through their own resources, Proticon is one firm that will assist professional, executive, technical managerial and other specialized workers. The work Proticon will be doing is based on what is offered at the Professional Outplacement Assistance Center (POAC) in Columbia, MD – a service of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation’s Division of Workforce Development. POAC provides assistance to individuals who are in the professional, executive, technical, managerial and scientific occupations.
