Marin Residents and Businesses Can Win Big Savings, Carbon Reductions, Energy Security Upgrade from Local Power Works, LLC Clean Energy Bid
Bringing dramatically cleaner and more secure energy sources to Marin County residents at prices at or below PG&E is what Local Power Works LLC’s July 20, 2009 bid to the Marin Energy Authority is all about. With its focus on local power and efficiency projects built by local firms, Local Power Works has bid to create local green jobs and improve the way of life in Marin County. The Local Power Works bid will provide over 76% of the community’s electricity from new local green energy sources.
San Francisco, CA, August 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Clean energy, aggressive demand reductions and physical re-localization of power supply would make better use of existing electricity supplies while maximizing reduction of the carbon foot print. The proposal to Marin Energy Authority includes a four-phase approach first improving existing energy efficiency, using available renewable energy sources, and rapid deployment of residential photovoltaic systems. As shown below, the following phases expand on the first phase and would develop clean energy production projects such as wind power and small hydroelectric sources.
Phase 1 – Improve customer energy use through energy efficiency, load control and “smart grid” measures
Residential photovoltaic program
Phase 2 – Nearby clean energy wind power development
Commercial/Industrial photovoltaic program
Phase 3 - Clean Energy wind power cooperatives
Phase 4 - Municipal partnerships involving landfill gas use and clean
small hydroelectric power
Regional geothermal development
Over a five-year period Local Power Works will work closely with the Marin Energy Authority to fund and implement projects from which county residents can benefit through direct participation in clean energy development, including an offering to every customer to own solar power.
Local Power Works CEO Paul Fenn, commented, “Our proposal would supply 76% clean power at or below PG&E rates while giving Marin residents the ability to chose the level of green power they want. A dark green option with 100% renewable energy will be offered to all customers at a 10% premium."
Local Power Works’ strategy is to involve the community in making the environment better through improving the way we use energy and developing, economic, clean power projects for the future. To accomplish this goal they have assembled a team of over a dozen leading local and national green power, smart grid and distributed generation companies to “fast track” clean energy development in local and nearby areas.
Local Power Works, LLP’s proposal to the Marin Energy Authority was in response to their May 11, 2009 Request For Proposals. Local Power Works, LLP is a California Limited Liability Corporation with offices in San Francisco, CA and offering similar service to communities in California, Ohio, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.
