InEnTec Chemical to Establish Headquarters in Clay County, Florida
Orange Park, FL, August 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Clay County Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday that InEnTec Chemical LLC has chosen Fleming Island, in Clay County, Florida, as the site for the company’s new headquarters. The move affirms Florida’s focus on attracting clean energy and technology-based businesses and provides InEnTec Chemical with access to the state’s strong research universities, sustainability-minded suppliers and utilities, and growing clean technology talent pool. “InEnTec Chemical’s move to Clay County exemplifies the progress Florida is making in building an innovation economy with clean energy among the industries that will ensure our future business growth and competitiveness,” said John Adams, President and CEO of Enterprise Florida, the state’s primary economic development organization. “It’s great to see our economic development partners molding the right environment for the growth of this targeted sector, positioning Florida to become a clean energy innovation hub.”
InEnTec Chemical, currently based in Bend, Oregon, was formed in 2008 as a joint venture between InEnTec LLC and Lakeside Energy LLC to build, own and operate commercial Plasma Enhanced Melter (PEM™) gasification facilities that convert both hazardous and non-hazardous chemical residuals into useful chemical products, clean fuels and energy.
InEnTec Chemical’s Fleming Island headquarters will open later this year. “After considering several possible locations across the United States, we found Florida most receptive to our needs,” said E. Gary Cook, Chairman and CEO. “InEnTec Chemical is an expanding company that we expect to be a steady source of future green jobs. We are quite pleased about the opportunity to establish our management team in Florida, where we see a wealth of talent and a burgeoning clean technology hub from which we can benefit as we continue to implement projects across the nation,” Cook added. InEnTec Chemical’s parent company, InEnTec will remain in Bend, Oregon.
The move by InEnTec Chemical represents several months of collaboration on the local and statewide level with the Clay County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Division, the Clay County Board of County Commissioners, Enterprise Florida, Inc. and the Governor’s Office of Tourism Trade and Economic Development. “We are pleased to join the State of Florida in welcoming InEnTec Chemical to Clay County,” said Wendell Davis, Chair of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. “Indeed, we recognize the value that this headquarters operation will mean for Clay County by helping to diversify our local economy, provide high quality jobs, and increase awareness of our community as a destination for business.”
Moreover, the establishment of InEnTec Chemical corporate headquarters holds much promise in formulating stronger ties with research and development in the field of engineering, sciences and clean energy technology business. “We believe that establishment of the corporate office in Clay County has tremendous benefits for additional affiliations with major national and international companies worldwide,” said Chris McNees, Chair of the Economic Development Advisory Board of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce. “The headquarters project will also help establish a focus on the technology, research and development, engineering and science as an excellent example of utilization of clean technology within the alternative energy sector businesses. We are excited about helping this company grow their presence from Florida.” For more information about relocating or expanding business opportunities as well as incentives, please contact Danita Andrews, Vice President of Economic Development, Clay County Chamber of Commerce at 904.264.1005
