Singapore Exhibition Services Holds Sustainable Energy Conference to Support Development of Renewable Energy Sources in Asia
Aimed at supporting sustainable growth in Asia, EnviroAsia2009 will feature the most advanced environmental, ecological and clean technologies across the four major environment industry segments – Waste, Water, Energy and Air. EnviroAsia2009 serves as the key networking platform for industry professionals in the region to keep up with the latest trends and develop tangible business partnerships.
Singapore, Singapore, August 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Conference to debut at environmental, ecological and clean technologies exhibition - EnviroAsia2009
The world today continues to confront the effects of climate change, and reducing our carbon footprint has never been more critical. As fossil fuel consumption cannot continue without severe repercussions to the environment, new sustainable energy alternatives, policies and practices are required sooner rather than later. The Sustainable Energy Conference, held from 1 - 2 December 2009 at Suntec Singapore, aims to address these pressing challenges.
According to the United States Energy Information Administration, the world’s energy demand is expected to rise to 44 per cent by 2030 due to strong long-term economic growth in developing nations, with China and India being the key consumers. In Asia, alternate sources such as wind, solar, biofuels, geothermal and possibly nuclear energy, will take a bigger stage.
The need to boost renewable energy installments in Asia to meet growing demands is high priority. A comprehensive conference programme consisting of two parallel tracks - Energy Alternatives and Energy Management & Efficiency, has been put together to address the challenges of increasing renewable energy output in the region. The conference will provide insights valuable to governments, environment and energy agencies, renewable energy, biofuels and bioenergy power companies as well as clean technology providers and energy investors.
One of the featured topics that will be discussed at the conference’s Energy Alternatives track is expanding ways to develop and deploy renewable energy policies in the region, and building bilateral collaborations that reduce the developmental costs of renewable energy projects. Another highlight in the track is the forward-looking topic presentation by Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy on the viability of generating nuclear energy in Asia. A panel discussion featuring industry experts and visionaries from across the globe will look into the commercial viability of biofuels and its outlook in the next five years.
The Energy Management & Efficiency track will discuss topics that are in the spotlight in recent years, such as green buildings. According to the World Green Building Council, green buildings can reduce emissions by 35 per cent compared to traditional buildings and reduce energy use by 30 - 50 per cent. Delegates to the conference will be able to fully appreciate the impact of green buildings and learn how they can help to achieve better energy efficiency.
The Sustainable Energy Conference is held in conjunction with EnviroAsia2009, the fourth International Environmental Technologies Exhibition at Suntec Singapore from 1 - 4 December 2009.
