Audubon Environmental Completes Services at Lonnie Poole Golf Course
Raleigh, NC, August 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Miles M. (Bud) Smart, Ph.D., president of Audubon Environmental (www.audubonenv.com), a sustainability consulting firm that works with landowners, developers and government entities to protect and sustain land, water, wildlife and natural resources, has announced that the firm has completed work for Lonnie Poole Golf Course, located at N.C. State University’s Centennial Campus, to provide an environmentally sensitive golf course. Audubon Environmental assisted the 200-acre facility in the implementation of the Silver Signature Sanctuary program from Audubon International by establishing development and property management practices that reduce the impact on the course’s natural resources. Implemented practices include a water monitoring plan, storm water and erosion control measures, wildlife enhancement and management, tree protection, natural landscaping, pesticide selection, and a pest management plan.
Services donated by Audubon totaled $60,000. The Lonnie Poole Golf Course’s grand opening was held on Friday, July 31 at 1509 Main Campus Drive, located on the southernmost portion of Centennial Campus. For more information, visit www.audubonenv.com.
