West Yellowstone, MT, August 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- August 14 through 17 will be a great time to be in West Yellowstone. The line-up includes events commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Hebgen Lake Earthquake, annual Crazy Dayz sales, free entrance to Yellowstone on Saturday and Sunday and “Music in the Park “ Saturday evening.

“With this combination, it’s a perfect weekend for families to come to West,” said Jack Clarkson, Chamber President, “So much will be Free!”

Events commemorating the Hebgen Lake Earthquake will begin on Friday afternoon, August 14th and continue right through Monday the 17th. Joanne Girvin of the Hebgen Lake Ranger District has been coordinating the Anniversary schedule. “Engaging science presentations, talks by survivors, kid’s programs, a special Smokejumper event at Refuge Point, an open house, and, of course, a Memorial Service are all included,” she explained.

The annual Crazy Dayz sales will begin Friday morning and run through Sunday evening. “We’ve had several calls asking about the hours,” Laurie Augustin, the Chamber’s Visitor Services coordinator said. “In general, most stores open by 10:00 in the morning and operate through 9:00 or 10:00 in the evening. That’s plenty of time to browse and buy, take in some of the earthquake events and still enjoy the Music in the Park.”

Local musicians are primed to entertain in Pioneer Park beginning at 7:00 pm on Saturday evening. “It’s free! Just bring your chairs, coolers and kids,” invited Don Perry of Black Mountain Productions, who present Music in the Park at least four times every summer.
