Christopher Kennedy Receives Emmy Nomination
Christopher Kennedy, Hollywood sound and music editor and Operations Director for MobiStories, Digital Books for Kids, received an Emmy Nomination for his work on “The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler.”
Doylestown, PA, August 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Christopher Kennedy, feature film music editor and MobiStories operations director, today received his first Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Sound Editing on Hallmark Hall of Fame’s critically acclaimed movie, “The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler” shown on ABC this past April.
The movie, set in Poland during WW II, follows Irena Sendler as she helps save the lives of 2500 Jewish children by placing them with Christian families to avoid the mass extermination of Jews by the Nazis. “For a period movie, almost all the sound had to be built from scratch,” commented Kennedy. “Modern cars, planes, phones and clocks which are prevalent wherever films are shot today, didn’t exist and so cannot be a part of the film’s audio track,” he continued.
With over 25 years experience in the Motion Picture Film industry working in all areas of Sound and Music Editing, Kennedy has more than 60 screen credits on films, made for TV movies and TV specials. He was nominated for three Golden Reel Sound Awards for “Unfaithful,” “De-Lovely” and “Rameses.” In 2006 Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, with whom Kennedy collaborated, won the much-coveted Oscar for his brilliant score to Johnny Depp’s “Finding Neverland.”
Kennedy is currently working on the movie "Get Low" starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, Lucas Black and Sissy Spacek. In addition, as the operations director of Still Motion Media’s MobiStories, Digital Picture Books and e-books for Kids, Kennedy is responsible for the audio component of each book.
Kennedy lives in Buckingham, PA with his wife and son.
