Branson, CO, August 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As the school year approaches, many families are exploring and evaluating alternative education options for the upcoming school year. The growing popularity of online education in particular is opening up a whole new horizon of educational choices for Colorado students. Branson School Online, an accredited public school serving Colorado students in kindergarten through grade 12, is currently holding informational events throughout the state. They are accepting enrollment for the 2009-10 school year, which begins August 24.
“Any student living in Colorado can take advantage of this online education option, including previously homeschooled students, athletes, performers and others with special needs as well as students seeking Advanced Placement courses or electives unavailable in their local school district,” said Dr. Larry Birden, Director of Branson School Online and Superintendent of the Branson School District Re-82. “Branson School Online is focused on providing Colorado students the highest quality education to provide a solid foundation for pursuing their passions and future goals.”
Branson School Online is operated through the Branson School District Re-82, which is accredited by the Colorado Department of Education. The school takes a high-tech, high-touch approach to education, providing high-quality, state-aligned curriculum, supported by experienced, Colorado-licensed teachers, education advisors and counselors since 2001. Because all classes are conducted online, Branson School Online provides computers to all full-time students who request them for the duration of their active enrollment, along with any required textbooks. The program is available tuition-free to all Colorado students, including students previously enrolled in a private school or home school program.
Branson School Online counselors work with students to focus on individually tailored education plans designed to fit their learning level and post-high school goals. Students and counselors create a plan that is right for each person, whether they are college- or career-bound.
“We maintain the same commitment to each student enrolled in Branson School Online as we do for students in the Branson School District’s traditional brick-and-mortar schools – a commitment to personal attention and academic success,” said Dr. Birden. “While we may be using the newest tools to deliver education, we remain true to our small community roots by investing the time to get to know each student.”
Branson School Online’s individual attention to students extends to the classroom setting, where the school’s dedicated teachers interact with students in a virtual “classroom” and are available for students by email and phone.
The school’s curriculum is aligned to Colorado State Standards and includes core courses such as English and math, unique curriculum offerings such as Web design, digital photography and a variety of business courses, and access to post-secondary courses which provide students the opportunity to earn dual credit towards both high school graduation requirement and a post-secondary degree.
A series of informational events are being hosted throughout the state where students and parents can meet with staff and enrollment specialists of Branson School Online to learn more about this education option.
