Amertron Continues Strong Growth and Focuses on Diversification in 2006-2007

West Melbourne, FL, September 06, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Amertron, a SBA certified Small Disadvantaged Business, is a contract manufacturing firm founded in 1971 by a single employee. It now employees 47 employees in two offices in Central Florida. Since James Harhi joined Amertron in 2002, Amertron has experience at least 20% growth each year, and 2006 will be the second consecutive year it will set a new gross sales record.
Amertron’s major accomplishments for the current year are acceptance into the US Navy MTTAP Mentor Protégé Program, Minority certification by the Florida Minority Supplier Development Council, hiring of a dedicated Outside Sales Representative, new partnership with a Manufacturer Representative Firm, and ISO 9001 Certification scheduling.
On May 1, 2006, Amertron was accepted into the US Navy’s MTTAP program (http://www.mtapp-tng.org/). The MTTAP program will help Amertron develop a stronger foundation to handle the 20%-30% growth over the next five years. Amertron has already completed their assessment and are in the final stages of developing Continuous Improvement Plans for Production, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.
On August 23, 2006, Amertron received certification as a minority business with the Florida Minority Supplier Development Council (http://www.nmsdcfl.com). This organization will provide Amertron excellent networking opportunities with prime contractors. It also provides a local minority certification for Amertron to leverage when quoting city, county, or state contracts.
On September 5, Susan Schneider starts as Amertron’s first Outside Sales Representative. Susan has over 16 years experience in electronics sales on Florida’s east coast. Susan’s goal is to help diversify Amertron’s customer base. We are confident with that Susan will provide instant results to Amertron’s sales and diversification.
On September 1, Charles Toelcke from EKCLEOT Ltd. will begin working as Amertron’s Manufacturer Representative Firm. Charles recently retired from Lockheed Martin as a Sub Contracts Manager. His experience in government contracting and network of contacts provide Amertron with an invaluable resource. We look forward to EKCLEOT Ltd being a long-term partner to our continued success.
Finally, Amertron has scheduled their ISO 9001 certification for November 2006. While Amertron’s quality rating with all customers has always been 98% or higher, we understand the industry’s demand for ISO certification. We believe official ISO 9001 certification is an important step to continue our separation from competition and be recognized as a leader in Central Florida electronics manufacturing and service.
