Faith Hoops Santa Cruz County Co-Ed Basketball League Kicks Off in September
Santa Cruz, CA, August 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Faith Hoops, a sports ministry entity specializing in basketball leagues, camps and 3-on-3 tournaments announced today that their Fall Co-Ed Basketball League will start on September 13th. From high school players to a women’s division as well as a 40 and over division, teams will compete weekly for a chance to make the playoffs beginning in November. The season will also include an All-Star Day on October 11th at Mt. Hermon Conference Center with a 5-on-5 Game, Slam Dunk Contest, 3 Point Shootout, Carnival Games for the whole family and fantastic raffle prizes.
Confirmed locations for the fall season include Bethany University, Santa Cruz Bible Church, Mt. Hermon Conference Center and Twin Lakes Church. Most of the games will take place on Sunday afternoon’s, with weekday games added as needed. All players will receive high quality reversible jerseys and division champions will receive t-shirts and hats. League players will also receive exclusive monthly discount offers to select Golden State Warriors games throughout 2009/2010.

Registration for the fall season has already begun and space is limited: teams are being accepted on a “first come, first served basis.” The registration deadline for the fall season is September 4th, 2009.
The highlight of the season will be a family themed All-Star Sunday, taking place on October 11th at Mt. Hermon Conference Center. The day will feature the top 16 players from the league competing in a full-court 5-on-5 game. Other activities will include a Slam Dunk Contest, 3 Point Shootout, Dunk Tank, Rock Climbing Wall, Bounce House and much more. “We think the All-Star Day is a great way to unite the players, their families and Santa Cruz hoop enthusiasts,” said Stacey McQueen, Faith Hoops League Coordinator & Event Manager. Admission is free, and a barbecue plate will be served throughout the evening. Fantastic raffle prizes will be offered to all in attendance (tickets $1 each). Prizes will include tickets to the Golden State Warriors, Fox Racing apparel, AirTran Airline tickets, HoopFX backboard covers, Learning Resources educational toys and much more. 20 percent of the net proceeds from the day will be donated to Club Dust (clubdust.org), a non-profit organization building homes for the poor in Mexico.
