ASET Provides Simultaneous Digital Interpretation Services for Global Summit on Climate Change

Arlington, VA, August 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The 2009 Indigenous People Global Summit on Climate Change brought together a variety of attendees from around the world to discuss the importance of climate change and how each culture is impacted. The purpose of the summit was to enable Indigenous Peoples from all regions of the world to exchange their knowledge and experience of adapting to the impacts of climate change.

Held at the Dena’ina Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska from April 20-24, summit organizers brought in ASET to provide expert global conference and interpretation services. ASET provided the simultaneous interpretation systems for 4 of the languages spoken by the summit’s attendees in the general session, as well as in 3 breakout rooms using the latest digital infrared technology from Bosch. The equipment provided by ASET included 12 interpretation booths, Bosch NG Interpreter Consoles, Bosch Integrus Digital IR Emitters and 400 Bosch Integrus Infrared Receivers.

The event was attended by 400 delegates, including government officials and climate change experts from France, Latin America and Russia in an attempt to allow people from all regions of the world to exchange their knowledge and experience of adapting to the impacts of climate change. The end goal of the summit was to come up with recommendations to be presented at the Conference of Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009.
