Why Shamanism Now? Radio Show Focuses on “The Basics of Living Well: Grounding” on August 19
On her radio show "Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity,” teacher, author, and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt focuses on grounding as an essential practice to living well, regardless of the personal path you are on in the first of her three-part series on “The Basics of Living Well.”
Portland, OR, August 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Streaming live on the Voice America Network (www.voiceamerica.com) on Wednesday, August 19 at 2 p.m. Pacific time/5 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?", founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about how grounding is one of the basic practices of living well. According to Pratt, whether you are engaged in religion, spirituality, shamanism or just living life, you are still an energy being living in an energy world. It all looks physical and solid, but in reality it’s all energy and it’s all connected. This is the focus of her three-part series on “The Basics of Living Well”
Pratt discusses how, to live well in your human body, you must think of it as an energy body. Energy body maintenance requires plugging it in, moving the energy, and containing or cultivating the energy. Listeners will learn how and why to “plug in” or ground the energy body. According to Pratt, grounding is a choice. It isn’t something you heal. It’s something you do. Good healthy, daily grounding can cure both stagnant, depression energies as well as scattered, fragmented energies in the body. To ground is to show up and be present, which is the first step to everything else that really matters.
Christina Pratt is an authentic, non-traditional contemporary shaman. In practice since 1990, she specializes in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800 page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing in Portland, OR, and New York, NY, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.
