FamilySkiHub.com Releases List of Top 20 Family Ski Resorts for Upcoming Ski Season
Annual list of best U.S. family ski resorts includes ski areas from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, California, Vermont, Minnesota, and Maine.
Minneapolis, MN, July 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- FamilySkiHub.com, a leading source of family skiing advice, reviews, content, and gear, has released its 3rd annual list of the Top 20 Family Ski Resorts. First introduced in 2007, the Family Ski Hub Top 20 Family Resorts list recognizes those resorts that promise a complete and memorable family skiing experience for families of all skill levels.
This year’s Top 20 list includes resorts from across the United States. Western ski areas on the list include the Colorado resorts of Steamboat Springs, Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen/Snowmass, Winter Park, and Keystone, Montana’s Big Sky and Whitefish Mountain, Wyoming’s Grand Targhee, Utah’s Deer Valley, Solitude, and The Canyons, Sun Valley in Idaho, and Northstar-at-Tahoe in California. In the Southwest, Taos, New Mexico was also included.
Eastern Resorts earning the honor were Maine’s Sugarloaf and Vermont’s Killington, Smugglers Notch, and Okemo. The lone Midwest resort earning the distinction this year was Lutsen in Minnesota.
“These ski resorts are a cut above from a family perspective. While several resorts across the country can boast great snow, it takes extra effort, planning, and organization to create an environment that maximizes the family ski experience,” said Paul Johnson, Editor of FamilySkiHub.
FamilySkiHub’s Top 20 List is reviewed prior to each ski season by a panel of ski writers and skiing parents. Criteria include variety of ski terrain, quality and abundance of family and children’s programming, ski school reputation, activities for non-skiers, and positive personal reviews from families. Effort is also made to provide geographical variety on the list in order to recognize great family resorts that are accessible to many skiers across the nation.
The full list, along with additional commentary on each resort, can be found at the Best Family Ski Resorts page of FamilySkiHub.
