New True-Rugged MRS-G2 Server brings the power of a data center into the field with a small footprint, high performance and extreme ruggedness for the military, first responder and private markets.
Lynn, MA, August 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mobile Rugged Technologies, Corp. a principal supplier of Military, First Responder and Industrial highly ruggedized computing systems and peripherals introduces the True-Rugged MRS-G2, a hermitically sealed submersible server class computer enclosed in its popular SRU (Submersible Rack Unit) form factor.

The new True-Rugged MRS-G2 is a ruggedized server hermetically sealed and able to withstand liquids, chemicals, sand, dust and fine particle infiltration. It has the versatility to operate in altitudes where atmospheric conditions would cause others to fail. The MRS-G2 in SRU Enclosure is IP68 NEMA 6P and MIL-STD-810 compliant for environmental conditions temperatures shock and vibration.
The MRS-G2 offers state of the art technology and processing power in a footprint that measures; 12.00"(W) x 11.75"(D) x 2.5"(H). Thanks to proprietary cooling technology, it is the most robust and high performance system of its grade on the market. The architecture is modular utilizing system on Com Express Modules, PC104 Plus devices and a variety of power supplies (application and component dependent). These features allow for a highly customizable system based on custom requirements.
Specifications include a base Intel Core 2 Duo® 1.8 GHz Processor, up to 8GB RAM, dual DVI video outputs, 10/100/1000 Gigabit NIC, Mini-PCI Socket populated for 802.11 WiFi wireless networking and up to 6 USB ports. Storage of up to 1 Terabyte is available utilizing 2 SATA II 3Gb/s SSD’s (Solid State Drive). Operating system systems supported include Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Windows XP and Vista (embedded, 32 and 64 bit versions). Power may be provided from any 9-30 VDC source or from other Mobile Rugged battery and power solutions through a military grade PT8 connector for field operations. A single PT18 universal bus is also found on the back of the unit for connecting all popular ports through a single connection enabling a data center or rackable command station configuration.
