Featuring performances by artists Omer Avital and Aaron Goldberg (Israel/New York), SCRAP Performance Group (Philadelphia), and Ayisha Knight-Shaw (Boston), DNAWORKS’ global, cross-cultural outreach will be brilliantly reflected at this One-night Only event on August 26th at:The Club at La MaMa, 74A East 4th St. NYC.

New York, NY, August 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- DNAWorks (www.dnaworks.org), an arts and service organization based in New York City, is raising money to bring their dialogue and healing programs to Israel this fall at Belonging Everywhere: DNAWorks 2009 Summer Fundraiser.

Founded in 2006 and registered in 2008 by Adam McKinney and Daniel Banks, Ph. D., DNAWorks is dedicated to furthering artistic expression and dialogue, focusing on issues of identity, culture, class, and heritage. DNAWorks catalyzes performance and --- action through the arts in the communities in which they work. In their work and global initiatives, the DNAWorks philosophy is Art = Ritual = Healing = Community.

With one of the most culturally diverse followings of any organization of its kind, DNAWorks has led arts and dialogue programs with communities in the US, Mexico, Ghana, South Africa, Indonesia, Italy, and Hungary. Belonging Everywhere will help fund DNAWorks’ two-month project in Israel where McKinney and Banks will create a dance-theatre work for the Ethiopian dance company, Beta Dance Troupe (Haifa), on the themes home, passage, and diaspora. DNAWorks will also lead Hip Hop Theatre workshops with Peace Child Israel (Tel Aviv), an organization that works with Israeli, Arab, and Jewish teens.
