On the Road ... To Meet Christianity’s Leaders
For five years one of the most unique TV series has been filming its interviews all over the world.
London, United Kingdom, August 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For five years now one of the most unique TV / DVD series have been in the process of being filmed and viewed – around the world. It all started as a “God ordained accident”. Harvest Fields Commissioning and its media production arm OLI Productions were filming a documentary about the country of Sweden. In searching for input about its history of post-modern Christianity there the Producers contacted the new Pastor of Livets Ord (Word of Life) which has the largest Sunday morning attendance in Sweden. The founder of the church, Ulf Ekman, was living in Israel at the time but intercepted the e-mail. “Would you be interested in interviewing me instead?”, the e-mail asked. “I will be flying in from Israel that morning and would be happy to help.” There was no doubt that this Pastor, author, church planter and conference speaker would be able to share his insight into Christianity in Sweden in a way that no one else could. Series Producer David Sullivan continues “When we looked at the material we had it was 30 minutes of what could only be described as “Principles of Leadership””. Hence the name of the series. When asked “How do you handle criticism?” Pastor Ulf shared his story of when a bomb when off in the church sanctuary and one in his home mailbox. His children went to school walking by graffiti saying “Hang Ulf Ekman.” Quite heavy persecution for merely being the first non-denominational church in the country. “After Pastor Ulf we contacted people that we knew well such as George Verwer (founder of Operation Mobilisation),” continues Sullivan. “It all just sort of snowballed.” Guests have now included Anne Graham Lotz, Joyce Meyer, Andrew Wommack, Brother Andrew, Lisa Bevere, Jackie Pullinger, Casey Treat and Brother Yun.
With very few exceptions all of the 52 programmes have been filmed on location worldwide. Recently the Head of the British Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, was interviewed by the POL team right at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, across from Whitehall’s famous Horse Guards. From Beijing to Amsterdam the setting have included Brother Andrew’s home office where so many huge undertakings were mapped out and planned. “It makes for interesting times at airports” the TV Producer adds. “We’re always the last one past security due to all of the electronics. Everything has to be highly portable because we are in some very high security settings and must, sometimes, move locations at a moment’s notice.”.
David adds “It all sounds so glamorous but is actually a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Looking for a replacement part for a microphone in a village in Asia can put a bit more pressure on the situation but God is always faithful.”
What is next? HFC International and OLI productions are actually in the midst of filming and producing 10 more unique TV series for 2009 / 2010 including “Principles of Praise”, “Principles of Business” and “Precepts of Leadership” - all spin offs of the original “Principles of Leadership”. Like a 21st century mega studio they are also in post-production of a youth programme, one for young mothers, a series that centres on building without impacting the environment (hosted by one of the chief architects of England’s “The Eden Project”), a Christian gardening programme and one on the creative arts. Their vision is that those hostile or uninterested in Christianity will take a look and a listen.
Harvest Fields Commissioning International is a U. K. Registered Charity with the purpose of assisting in raising up and encouraging churches and leaders in over 45 countries and on all 5 continents for work in churches, charities and other humanitarian assistance groups.
