Job Hungry Workers Finding Satisfaction in Qatar
A Qatar Jobs Survey reveals most expats are happy with their move to Qatar - but that it may not be a place for single men.
Doha, Qatar, August 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Workers seeking higher wages or even just a job are looking to the tiny Emirate of Qatar to fulfill their ambitions.
And, according to a survey of over 220 expatriate workers carried out by tourist and resident's website Qatar Visitor, the decision is the right one.
"Nearly 90% of those who have found work in Qatar say they are happy with their decision to relocate," said Philip Beech, editor of Qatar Visitor.
That's not surprising, as the survey, which measured the salary of workers before and after they moved to Qatar, shows that the average expatriate can expect a large increase in salary.
"Prior to moving to Qatar, the largest group of workers when measured by income group was in the 501 - 1000 range. After moving to Qatar the majority of these workers are earning between 1001 and 4000 dollars," Philip explained.
Money and a lack of jobs at home was the largest single reason for people moving to Qatar, although more than 25% of expatriates were also interested in a change of culture.
If you are a single man looking for a wife, though, Qatar may not be your best choice - less than 18% of the respondents were female.
The Qatar Jobs Survey questioned over 220 Qatar expatriate workers, and was carried out with the assistance of ILoveQatar.net. To view the full results of the jobs survey see Qatar Jobs Survey.
