Rhythm of Spirit World Healing Ceremony
An invitation to join in the September World Healing Ceremony with the theme "Rhythm of Spirit," with their keynote speaker Anton Mizerak and with musician Kim Lorene.
San Fernando Valley, CA, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The September World Healing Ceremony, sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM), will be presented at 6:55 p.m., Saturday, September 5, at “The Onion” Sacred Dome 9550 Haskell Ave. in North Hills (near the I-405 and Nordoff). SUM is an all-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the truth that exists at the heart of all faith traditions.
The theme this month is "Rhythm of Spirit". It is a delight to have Anton Mizerak as the keynote speaker this month speaking on "The Evolution of Spirituality Through Sacred Music." Anton lives and records in Mount Shasta, California, in a house and studio that he built himself. Anton's many recordings reflect his extensive travels, his love of the natural world, and his desire to impact the world in a positive way through music. Anton has been performing on piano and harmonica since 1968. In 1986, he began studying tabla (classical Indian drums) in Kathmandu, Nepal, studying since 1987 with Nepali tabla maestro Hom Nath Upadhyaya.
Anton also performed for five years with Shasta Taiko, a Japanese-style folk drumming group in Northern California. These influences have led him to explore serious cross-cultural musical experimentation combining harmonica and synthesizers with traditional Asian melodic and percussive instruments.
Anton's seven CDs span the musical gamut from world beat to deeply meditational and have been played on over five hundred radio stations throughout North America, and world wide from Saudi Arabia to Estonia. His latest CD series "When Angels Dream" has been featured on NPR's syndicated program "Echoes" and on the satellite radio and TV show "Soundscapes". He has provided meditation music for the United Church of Religious Science national Asilomar gathering for the past five years.
The special ceremonial music will be presented by Anton with Kim Lorene. Anton believes that our organic experience of sun, wind, water, snow and earth, transmitted through music, can be a valuable nurturing and healing experience. Anton plays keyboards and harmonica. Many people have seen Anton at New Thought Churches, symposiums and retreats over the past ten years.
Kim Lorene grew up surrounded by the lush green forests of coastal British Columbia. She travels and shares her music throughout North America, Europe, and the U.K., always listening for the music that the earth has to share. Along the way she gathers stories and writes about the beauty and love found in nature, in people, in animals, and in the spirit which connects us all. With her deeply moving songs and her angelic voice, she connects with the heart of the listener and invites them to join her in a world filled with wonder and with the joy of being alive. Anton and Kim were the featured performers at the Seattle Sacred World Music Festival and the United Centers for Spiritual Living and Unity annual gatherings at Asilomar and at the Circle of Love gathering at Unity Village.
These monthly World Healing Meditation Ceremonies are held at or near the time of the full moon and are sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM). They are held at “The Onion” sacred dome 9550 Haskell Ave. in North Hills in the San Fernando Valley (near the 405 and Nordoff).
Spiritual Unity Movement meditate at the time of the full moon to be in harmony with ancient traditions honoring the sacred mother and natural rhythms of the universe. Each and every World Healing Ceremony includes an honoring the world religions ceremony, world renowned key note speakers, live inspirational music, guided meditation, deep meditation, world blessing ritual and a 15 minute forum on the theme of the evening conducted by the key note speaker directly following the closing ritual.
There is a $10 suggested donation (or whatever is comfortable) for this event, and because SUM is an all-denominational organization, it accepts denominations of all sizes--smile.
