New Media Education Takes Off at Michigan State University

New Media education from the leading communication program in the world, Michigan State University. The New Media Drivers License Course, taught by Derek Mehraban, CEO of Ingenex Digital Marketing teaches students a new way to interact with customers and brands online.

Ann Arbor, MI, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Over the past several years, digital technology has been expanding the avenues of media into the next generation. With this advancement, new media has emerged and established itself as one of the fastest growing business ventures today. In this economy, it pays to stay ahead of the curve and new media education will do just that.

Recently, schools around the United States and the world have been offering new classes to those who wish to learn about new media. One of these schools in particular is Michigan State University, one of the top schools in the nation. Their “New Media Drivers License” (http://www.newmediadl.com) course was recently developed and has quickly gained popularity among students in Advertising, Public Relations, and Retailing. This course introduces individuals to digital marketing and its core concepts of search engine optimization, social media marketing, web design, online public relations, and more.

The class is taught by two instructors. Derek Mehraban, CEO of Ingenex Digital Marketing (http://www.ingenexdigital.com), heads the class and is joined by Dr. Richard T. Cole, a professor and Chair of the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing at MSU. Mehraban has been interested in digital marketing for years and believes it is truly the future of marketing and advertising.

“MSU students are extremely talented in marketing and communications. It’s an honor to teach them how to use new media to market themselves and their future companies. Digital skills and new media marketing are essential to compete in today’s job market and MSU students will be ahead of the game by taking the New Media Drivers License Course.” - Derek Mehraban, CEO Ingenex Digital Marketing

The class meets at the beginning of the semester for one full day, and after that, the rest of the instruction and course work is done from the student’s computer at home (or wherever they may be). Lessons are instructed through the internet for the rest of the semester and assignments are posted once a week. This way, students get a feel of how to manage their own new media strategies through social media and other practices. At the end of the semester, the students meet with the instructors one last time to discuss their experience with the class.

“I cannot say enough how much I have enjoyed this class,” says student Matt Doyle, “the topics are current and relevant and the sense of community between instructors and students is unparalleled. I urge you all to check this class out.”

The New Media Drivers License course is currently about to begin its third semester this Fall, however it’s already completely full. But, there’s still time to enroll for Spring 2010. You can’t afford to pass this opportunity up for a New Media Education. Get your digital marketing training today and visit http://www.newmediadl.com
