Unique New Home and Later Service Time Begins August 23 for Namaqua Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Loveland, CO, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ferguson High School found a unique educational home at 1101 Hilltop Drive in Loveland when the former church owner of the site moved into new buildings of its own. On Sunday, August 23, Hilltop Drive will become home to the spiritually curious as the Namaqua Unitarian Universalist Congregation (NUUC) moves into the location on Sundays for 10 a.m. services.

“This is a fitting place for us,” says Sally Henry, president of the NUUC board. “Historically, the structure works well because it offers a simple, elegant sanctuary. And from a modern perspective, it’s exactly what we need to accommodate the families who attend our services. There are two nurseries, a safe outdoor play area, and classrooms for our young members studying religious exploration topics.”

The new 10 a.m. service time is expected to also better meet the needs of congregants, who meet after the service for a coffee hour and other activities.

Rev. Todd Strickland will lead the congregation in the new location by exploring a key element of Unitarian Universalism: the freedom to choose one’s own path. “A sense of growth and personal exploration is critical to the spiritually curious,” says Rev. Strickland. “This Sunday, we’ll examine the path that has brought each of us to this unique constellation of religious liberties that Unitarian Universalists cherish.”

Rev. Strickland is encouraging members – and anyone else who might just be curious about Unitarian Universalism – to bring a friend on Sunday to help inaugurate the new location. NUUC is located just off Taft between Eisenhower and 8th at 1101 Hilltop Dr. Driving directions: Turn west onto 11th Street from Taft.

Namaqua Unitarian Universalist Congregation is a liberal congregation with about sixty members drawn from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, in the Northern Colorado area.
