CalPoly and Quinnipiac Universities Sign with TipNow™, the Text-Based Anonymous Reporting System

CalPoly and Quinnipiac Universities Sign with TipNow to enhance their campus safety options and make both students and parents feel more confident that the universities are taking steps to ensure the safety of students and campus personnel.

San Jose, CA, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Two major universities have signed with TipNow™ to increase campus security.

Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational university with 5.600 undergraduate and 1,900 graduate students. It is consistently ranked among the best universities by U.S. News & World Report. Quinnipiac is often cited for the political and social polling it performs and its results are noted by major news outlets including the Wall Street Journal.

California Polytechnic State University is a nationally ranked, four-year, comprehensive public university. Its more than 18,000 students on the 6,000-acre main campus will benefit from the added security afforded by the TipNow program.

TipNow is the campus safety product from Resiligence, Inc., a leading provider of text-based security reporting programs.

TipNow is a tip collection and management system for anonymous tips originating from electronic mail and cell phone/personal digital assistant SMS or text messages. TipNow facilitates automated notification of campus security personnel regarding non-emergency suspicious activity which in the future could lead to human caused emergencies. The unique aspect of TipNow is its ability to encrypt the reporter’s cell phone number or email id thereby guaranteeing the anonymity of the reporting user.

TipNow is offered in the Software As a Service model. Deployment does not require any hardware installation or servicing by the user. TipNow also allows campus safety personnel to anonymously interact with the reporter.

Unfortunately, there have been too many campus events that create an atmosphere of fear. “TipNow has the potential to prevent the next Virginia Tech and Columbine” according to Cyril Rayan, President & CEO of Resiligence, Inc.

Resiligence is currently in discussions with universities, city police departments and corporate campuses for deployment of the product. A leading member of the San Francisco Bay Area Anti-Terrorism Office says, “The ability to gather information, sift through it to find what is useful intelligence, and then rapidly get that information to the right people, can and has made the difference between tragedy and that tragedy being averted.” TipNow helps facilitate positive outcomes.

It is hoped that citizens who witness dangerous or unlawful acts, but are leery of getting involved, will feel empowered to report these activities to the proper authorities by knowing their safety is assured through TipNow’s cloak of anonymity.

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley, Resiligence is dedicated to the creation and deployment of programs that enhance safety within organizations. The focus is on mitigating danger, encouraging and enhancing individual participation, and facilitating positive outcomes.
